Monster Room
We are very lucky to have a separate large indoor playroom (the Monster
Room) It houses a ball pool, slide,
climbing frame, rockers and a selection of sit and ride toys. It can be used
whatever the weather and all age groups have the opportunity to use this room
each day if they wish, it is very popular with the children and gives them a
time to ‘let off steam’, develop their physical skills and have fun.
Extra Activities
In addition to the daily
activities we also offer extra activities from specialists such as Tiny Mites
Music and Dinky
Dancers. We also take the children on outings for example to
the park for a picnic or on the bus to feed the ducks, of course risk
assessments are always completed and approved by the manager beforehand and the
ratio’s of adults to children increased.
Key Worker
All
children are assigned a key
worker, you will meet your child’s key worker during your
child’s settling in sessions, they will spend time getting to know your child.
They are responsible for keeping a learning
journal on your child, which charts their progress with
photographs, pieces of work and observations; they use this information to plan
their next steps.
Security
It is important to keep your children safe at Mini Monsters. The front entrance door can only be opened with a push button that only the staff can operate from inside the nursery, once inside this front door, there is a second door in place which can only be opened using a pin code (for staff only), a member of staff will let you in. CCTV cameras on both of these doors allows staff to see who is outside, if they do not recognise a parent they will go to the door and check identity. We also have CCTV cameras in all rooms that record all the time; the manager can watch each room on the main screen in her office. All members of staff are CRB checked and references from previous employers gained. There is a health and safety officer and all staff attend regular first aid and child protection training.
